The Four Freedoms of the EU

There has been a lot of talk about the four Freedoms of the EU - but I wonder if Britain has maybe been overly generous in accepting people here - as one of the Freedoms is the Free movement of Workers .... and in fact if you look at moving to Sweden for example then within six months you must have a job or be able to support yourself in order to stay there
