Immigration / Free Movement / Migration

We have mostly all taken advantage of free movement and come to assume this is normal. We can head abroad on holiday to Europe without a visa and the passport is only checked for security reasons and often not at all.
And many UK employers benefit from ready access to European labour, although with the new minimum wages, this labour from Europe is no longer guaranteed "cheap" labour and UK workers may well be more interested in some of these jobs.
However on the other side of the coin again, many UK people are working in Europe.
But, uncontrolled numbers of people moving between countries, so called "Immigration" has been an issue in politics for some time and was supposedly at least one of the issues in the Referendum, certainly for some voters.
So to keep up with the news on whether we are to have Free movement of people or else a halt to immigration except for a lucky few, or a complete halt and build a wall to isolate ourselves !! then here are some relevant news articles :

Switzerland (not a member of EU) has compromised on its stance about movement of people with the EU - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/sep/22/switzerland-votes-for-compromise-to-preserve-relations-with-eu  (23/9/16)

UK government will allow all EU nationals to stay - sounds like good news - mind you does it say they will be given citizenship ? After all they came here completely legitimately, contribute to the economy (mostly) and were needed by many employers and have added value to our country as I enjoy diversity and meeting new people from the EU http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/07/every-eu-migrant-can-stay-after-brexit-600000-will-be-given-amne/  (7/10/16)

Migration Watch - (Independent? -see article below from Estate agents for more on that) - statistics on here showing EU migration to the UK vs non-EU migration etc. https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/about-us
