Why Do we have a Conservative Government ?

Good Question. Because they did not have a majority of the vote at the General Election in 2015.
Far from it.

The Conservatives only originally got 36.9% of votes (24.4% of electorate).
And with the way seats are worked out they got just over 50% of seats in parliament - wholly unfair
11,334,576 votes out of electorate of 46,420,413.

To clarify - here is what the electorate voted for or not on the day - many chose to stay at home, for whatever reasons - possibly wanting "None of the Above" !

And as a percentage of voters - more what you are used to - but notice that Conservatives are still far from deserving over 50% of the seats in parliament !

And to add to this, those voting Conservative did so when David Cameron was in power. But he resigned after the EU Referendum, having failed to set a minimum turnout which should have been obvious.  And now we have Theresa May - unelected OP
